From him I learnt to dress immaculately
From him I learnt to sacrifice for Children
From him I learnt the joy of doing what the heart longs to do, no matter how tough or impossible it seems
From him I learnt of my Faith and my love for its rich Sacred Tradition
From him have I inherited all my various and variegated interests which sometimes befuddles those who know me
From him I learnt that life is to be lived - not just dreamt about.

Remembering you Daddy, and missing you, this Father's Day.

Why we need to love ourself ....

Love your neighbour as yourself - a command given eons ago, but which holds the whole of modern psychology in itself - in just one sentence of five words.

Loving oneself- that is the key to loving others. A person who cannot love himself/herself cannot love another. In fact such a person cannot love anything around .

Think about it.

Why do I love plants?
Because they give ME joy!
Their beautiful leaves, colourful flowers interesting fruits engage my feelings and emotions. But if I did not love myself, would I care about what happy feelings they evoke in me? I do not think so.

And this is true of everything that I am enraptured with.
They give me joy.
therefore I like them.
Because I love myself.
And because I love myself, I find joy and satisfaction in loving and caring for others.
If I did not love myself, I couldn't care less what happened to others.
But because I love myself, I will care for the environment I live in, the flora and fauna that adds beauty and richness to the world around me, and the people I interact with because they enrich my life, therefore they enrich ME :)  .

In this simple Command to 'Love my neighbor as myself' lies the key to one's own personal happiness,
and the happiness of the world.

And that is why we are taught "The Greatest of all is LOVE
1 Corinthians 13:13 ~ The Holy Bible
